Synopsis-

"Stricken with grief from the death of his girlfriend, Sith, Guy Salvatore struggles day-to-day to make sense of his world. He’s plagued with hallucinations of monsters that torment him with outrageous requests and threaten his life wherever he goes. He’s unsure if these manifestations are real or are being invented by his own sickened mind.

A man calling himself Satan holds the answers to Guy’s woes. Satan’s twisted tongue removes the tragedy of Sith’s death, and restores hope with the promise of her being alive. But there’s a catch! It seems that the two Gods that govern all of existence, let her be stolen from her world by an unknown force. Now she is floating aimlessly in and out of dimensional planes known as the “Dream Worlds.” Satan implores Guy to take action and call upon his latent power to break through his world’s plane, search out Sith, and take vengeance upon the vile Gods that caused this atrocity.

What’s a “Guy” to do? Especially when you think you’re going out of your skull, and a suspiciously cliché and creepy man in a graveyard tells you that your dead girlfriend is alive! Join Guy as he battles his perceptions of reality and starts to discover things that go beyond his world and into another.

An ongoing psychological drama-comedy about life, love, the politics of Gods, and everything you wanted to know about existence, but were afraid to ask!"

About this account-

This account serves as a preview of the first 3 issues in their raw formats. This is to give an idea of how the comic made [with commentary on each page], and a preview to satisfy the reader before publication. It includes rough dialog, spelling mistakes, rough drawings, and things that will be changed and refined in the final version.

right now the publisher i'm talking to wants to see it in color. So it looks like the final might just be in color if everything works out alright.

What you see here (as stated many times) is just a rough draft/pencils only version of my comic. It's a way of advertising it, and getting people interested for when the book comes out.

Wow. This may be the most well-thought out response I've ever seen on DeviantArt. :)

I apologize if my choice of words offended...looking back on it, it does seem I sort of half-accused you of copying other peoples' work, but that wasn't what I meant. The Jhonen influence is of course obvious, though not overstated. The Aaron A. thing would be coincidence rather than influence or otherwise, as the timing issues don't allow for either influence or outright copying, since Serenity Rose is a rather recent publication.

So basically, it's more a case of--your comic reminds me personally of some of the best aspects of Vasquez, Aaron, and Serena. Which isn't the same as saying you're a clone. The resemblance is more in my perception than in your execution. Though your artwork shares certain traits with others' (which is, in this big wide world, inevitable), it's not a rip-off; your story, on the other hand, really is little like any of the others mentioned. It's less demented and more coherent than most of Vasquez's stuff, it's virtually nothing like Aaron A.'s, and it's obviously not much like Serena's, being more concerned with supernatural happenstances and personal problems than with etiquette and Vincent Price cameos. ;)

So again, I apologize; I never intended to impugn your originality. I look forward to the next page you post.
