About-

And we're back.. but for how long? :O
As most of you know from reading my journal here, I have a potential contract with a publisher for getting "The God Machine" to become a reality. So i've been focusing my efforts (and tears, lots of tears) towards that. This publisher wants me to do the comic in color, so that's been an issue for me to figure out since i never planned for this comic to be in color at all. But they fell in love with my coloring back when i gave them my booklet in New York, and they hadn't forgotten me. I really like this publisher, they have 2 of my friends there, they have a neat line up, and they seem to have their act together. So we shall see. I'm still working on some sample things for them, and this page is part of my new sample set of pages for them. I'm timing myself to see how long it takes me to work on pencils, and then colors, and so forth. I need to make a defined schedule so i can tell the publisher what to expect, all while i'm coloring Sullengrey pages as well.

*phew*

Anyways about the page itself!
If you are feeling like deja vu is occurring, you're right.
The first 2 panels are from the last page, only done better.

Me and Drew :icondreadscape: were having a late night drawing session (Cause he was visting with Jocelyn.) and we came onto the discussion of what makes for more effective story telling in comics. I won't bore you with details (largely due to the fact i have work to get back to.), but we used page 6 as an example of what didn't work. It was acceptable, but it didn't have enough impact. I was inspired to rework those last panels, and make an overal more effective page with setting up the scene inside, and make a strong page to some to my publisher. But it's things like these that can keep on my toes and strive to do better.

Also- don't you just hate moshers who mosh to slow songs? It never fails. I even saw moshers at a They Might Be Giants concert once. Who moshes to TMBGs?!?!?! (good thing the 2 Johns threatened to throw those creeps out. yay!)Who moshes to A Perfect Circle?!? Who are you guys? I wanna know! You make things miserable! Save it for the Metal shows.. seriously. < / rant >

Another page to come on Thursday. (Which is shaping up pretty well.. in fact thats what i need to get back to.)

Love you guys! Thanks for putting up with these hiccups.
Hopefully i'll have more info to share as to weather or not i'll continue to do this, or the state of the comic being published.

Nature of project-

----------------------------------------

The Rough Cut Series is meant to be a preview/web comic of my comic series, "The God Machine." It's taking the original scripts and draft pages, and translating them to pencil only comic pages. There are no inks, formal fonts, or even blacked in areas. The idea behind this is to get you into the series before it comes out to print. Now when the comic goes to print media, you'll see the art work polished, inked, proper lettering, extra jokes, re-writes of the script, sometimes re-ordered panel layout, totally new pages, and bonus material. That way if you really like the project, you won't feel gypped that you'd be buying content that's already free online. Think of this as a preview, and a glimpse into the process in how I make comics.
