About-

Wow. This page is much different than the one I was working on last night.

I guess this one is a little different than a lot of my pages. It's a splash page...whoa!

Also, unlike most of my pages I took extra care to the line art for the most part. I really wanted GG to stand out as something different in Guy's life as this odd moment happens.

It's strange, originally in my script Guy never see's GG taking care of the Marcynites- it just happens. But since technically Guy hasn't seen GG since the first chapter, I wanted to remind him of her in the fight of confusion and monster attack. Giving him the sense there might be something bigger....

Anyways last night's page was a doozy. Some emotional interaction between brothers... but you'll all see this soon.


OH! Also for anybody following me on Twitter [link] - a few weeks ago, I stated how i spilled my coffee on a page... well.. yeah, that's the evidence right there in it's full stain glory! Adds character...? If i ever sell my comic pages, I wonder if people would get a kick out of my habits and be fascinated by my clumsy nature....

probably not...

The Rough Cut Series is meant to be a preview/web comic of my comic series, "The God Machine." It's taking the original scripts and draft pages, and translating them to pencil only comic pages. There are no inks, formal fonts, or even blacked in areas. The idea behind this is to get you into the series before it comes out to print. Now when the comic goes to print media, you'll see the art work polished, inked, proper lettering, extra jokes, re-writes of the script, sometimes re-ordered panel layout, totally new pages, and bonus material. That way if you really like the project, you won't feel gypped that you'd be buying content that's already free online. Think of this as a preview, and a glimpse into the process in how I make comics.

The God Machine is published by Archaia.
The first issue comes out Oct. 28th 2009.
